About Me

My name is Jess and my boyfriend husband, Joe, and I are new homeowners! (We closed on August 24, 2012!) I thought it would take us a lifetime to find a house that met both of our needs and a lot of our wants. We looked at hundreds of houses online (literally) and saw 12 houses in person before we finally found "the one."

Our house was built in 2001 and a little old lady lived there from the time it was built. I would describe it as a typical "builder's grade" house. The previous owner hadn't done anything to put her personal touch on it (she never even painted the walls). One of the reasons we liked the house so much when we first saw it was the fact that it was essentially a blank slate. It was almost as if we bought the house straight from the builder - well, except for the fact that there are some maintenance projects creeping up since it is 11 years old.

We are looking forward to making our house truly ours. We know we have a lot of DIY projects ahead of us and that is exciting but at the same time a little scary because we are brand-spankin' new to the DIY world...some projects may turn out beautifully, some may be learning experiences, and others may end up being complete failures. But, we can't wait to refresh, renew, and restyle our house into something that truly represents us!
